Brenda started practicing yoga as a last ditch effort to get out of her own head. Through the practice she unintentionally ended up delving far deeper into herself and consequently seeing things a little more clearly. Her desire to deepen her own practice led her to teacher training at LifePower Yoga with Nick Bez where she ended up completing over 400 hours of Ashtanga-based training in Minnesota. She quickly realized that having the ability to share the tools of this life-changing practice was far too powerful an opportunity to pass up.
This grounded yogini approaches her classes with the goal of empowering each student to light their own spark and become more true to themselves and what they need in the moment. Each person comes in with a different story and different needs, so she aims to listen emphatically and meet them where they. While teaching with accessibility, she enjoys throwing a challenge into the flow – whether it is mental or physical – to give students the opportunity to understand who they are when the pressure is on. She believes that one of the best ways to get to know yourself if to see how you respond when you are tossed in to the fire.
In her own practice, she is inspired by the story that great music can tell. It allows her feel her body and breath more freely. With the feeling of equanimity that yoga brings her, the practice allows Brenda to be more patient with others, with herself and with life in general.
